9:15 - 12:15 Free Education Class: XML Schema Development
by Enrique Quisbert, SAG, Senior Technical Instructor

This class is a condensed version of a popular class provided by SAG's Education Department. XML Schema, a more powerful alternative to Document Type Definitions (DTD), is used with XML to specify the structural information about an XML document. XML Schema has a purpose similar to that of a DTD, but goes several steps further. It provides better support of modular design and a much more systematic datatyping capability. Topics:

  • Building XML Schemas
  • Datatyping: Simple, Primitive and User Defined
  • Modular type: Complex, Groups
  • Working with several Schema documents: Importing schemas
  • 12:15 - 1:15 Lunch (provided)
1:15 - 2:15 Adabas SQL Server (AQA): An Overview and demo
by Becky Albin, SAG, IT Architect

This presentation will cover AQA Architecture, installation, usage, etc. There will also be a short AQA demo of AQA running on Windows 2000 accessing Adabas on Windows 2000.

      2:15 - 2:30 Break
      2:30 - 3:30 Adabas & XML: A Unique Advantage
by Becky Albin, SAG, IT Architect

Learn how your current Adabas environments can not only coexist in the XML world, but participate in the XML world with the use of Tamino, Natural, EntireX and some of their features. With more and more applications moving to the web, it has become all the more important to have a reliable, fast and non-stop back-end database server that is capable of handling large amounts of various types of data.
