2) Given the constraints of the user group format and budget do you have any suggestions for improving the meetings?
|
| - longer breaks between presentations. |
| - no need for any printed materials if we can get soft-copies. |
| - hosted by DTS at training facility. |
| - no |
| - Include scheduled breaks in the agenda. |
| - Not at the moment. This one was one of the better that I have attended.
All of the epresentations were either directly relevent to my work, or of interest
for future use - e.g. Dave Loves Ajax project. |
| - No, I thought that it was a good meeting. I enjoyed the Natural for AJAX presentation. |
| - No. |
| - It was sometimes hard to hear, partly because I was seated in back, partly because
of private (and annoying) conversations taking place in hall and by the coffee/snack table.
I wondered why the stage wasn't utilized, as it would have been more central to all attendees.
Other than that - no suggestions, you guys already do a great job. |
| - None. |
| - N/A |
| - meet at customer site |
| - No. |
|
|
|
3) How would you rate the individual presentations?
|
|
1
Great - On target for user group and good presenter
|
2
Good - Topic was good but the presenter left me wanting
|
3
OK - Not really of immediate interest to me but worth my time
|
4
Not OK - Subject not what I look for my attendance
|
5
Waste of time - Do not schedule presentation of this nature

4) Do you have any specific comments on any of the presentations?
|
| - It would be great to get more 'customer experience' presentation and maybe some 'best practices' discussions about certain topics rather then having Software AG run the program.
It is a 'User'(!!) group meeting after all .... |
| - Dave Love's presentation could be more informative if explaining more the technical details. |
| - no |
| - I would have liked more detail on Single Click Generation and Deployment of Building Web Services with Natural. |
| - I thought the screen was located a bit too far away. There was a lot of space in between the screen and the audience.
Having the Powerpoint printouts were great, but it was difficult to see the live demonstrations. I think it would also be helpful
if the presenters used some sort of lazer pointer when making reference to something on the screen. |
| - Great technical information on ADABAS disk usage and block sizing from Becky! We need more of these fundamentals type presentations. |
| - Becky & Patrick are very good presenters. The OK ratings reflect only on the material. Becky's material was presented previously. |
| - The Adabas and Disk Usage presentation seemed more geared towards DBA and consequently was a little boring, especially late
in the afternoon. Perhaps a more condensed presentation in the morning would have kept my interest more. Its good to know what is going
on in the DBA world but being a programmer I couldn't get to excited about that one. Everything else was very interesting to me. |
| - David Love's experience was of great interest. It's common for people who control the buying decisions to NOT comprehend
that they only need a new front-end. Some unscrupulous contractors (and irresponsible managers) exploit this, wasting thousands and
thousands of dollars on completely new, high-tech systems that look pretty but don't work as well as the old green-screen stuff did
because all the intricate, finely tuned code was tossed out. Infuriating to a civil servant who sees taxpayer money being so lavishly
wasted while public schools, Medi-Cal, etc keep getting their budgets cut. Wish more of the "money people" could have seen the presentation. |
| - They were all very good. |
| - I like how Becky moved at a quicker paced and would acknowledge when she knew certain aspects would not be useful to some of the audience. |
| - N/A |
| - No. |
| - The Single-Click and Modernization Goals seminars made my head spin. The introduction of so many tools was thoroughly
confusing to me. I am a hard-core mainframer and the technology is sometimes too far advanced for me (in my opinion). |
| - The screens are little bit hard to see. |
|
|
|
5) Facilities - We used a "half crescent" seating arrangement for this meeting - round tables with seats only facing
the presenters. What did you think of it?
|
|
This is my preferred arrangement
|
I preferred the previous "classroom" straight tables
|
I prefer the full seating arrangement at round tables

9) Anything else you would like to pass along to
the user group president or Software AG?
|
| - Keep it up, I appreciate everyone's efforts. |
| - Good User Group Conference. I would like some break time between the presentations (10-15 minutes). |
| - Great Job!!! |
| - Thank you to Bruce and Software AG for providing a valuable forum for sharing information. |
| - #7 - most of info seems to come from SAG. If SAG wasn't involved would there be enough presenters? |
| - The last several meetings have been wonderful! Great presenters and subject matter! |
| - Good job, thanks! |
| - In regards to question 7, if a presentation was being made on a topic I was interested in,
I would definitely attend. That being said, most of the presentations I would be interested in are normally
done by SAG. Thank you again for another great meeting. |
| - Presenters were well-prepared, knowledgeable, articulate, interesting. Good meeting! |
| - We gained a lot of valuable information at this meeting, especially from Becky.
The food and facilities were very nice. |
| - You did great job, Bruce. Thank you very much. |
| - I applaud the user group president doing another outstanding job organizing this event. Thank you! |
| - Thanks for going to the half-crescent seating. Much appreciated. |
